We
laugh and play in the summer days. Exhausted
and happy among friends newly found. To the
cool fresh grass we tumble down.

Boulder City, Nevada recently took delivery of
'London Bridge'. This beautiful sculpture series
depicts four carefree children playing the game
of the same name. It is the sixth L'Deane Trueblood
children's sculpture in the city's permanent collection,
joining other Trueblood originals; 'Hitchin' a Ride'
and 'Mary, Mary'. L'Deane and Cindy, her daughter-in-law
and business manager, delivered the 'London Bridge'
sculpture series personally from the foundry in
Lehi, Utah.
The city of Boulder added the captivating 'London
Bridge' series to its permanent collection as a
continuance of an annual competition which began
a few years ago with the objective of beautifying
its historic downtown area. There are currently
over a dozen sculptures on display as part of this
program. A permanent location for Trueblood's 'London
Bridge' has yet to be determined, but it will most
likely be installed in a park area near City Hall.
